Il Centro Internazionale Radio Medico, da 90 anni impegnato nell’assistenza di chi lavora in mare o solca i cieli, rivolge i più sinceri auguri a Papa Leone XIV, per l’inizio del Suo Pontificato. La pace evocata da Sua Santità nel primo messaggio dalla loggia di San Pietro è una speranza per il mondo intero, attraversato da troppe guerre, conflitti, morte e distruzione. La pace “disarmante e disarmata” è un richiamo potente a tutta l’umanità. Noi, medici e operatori del C.I.R.M, impegnati nella cura di uomini e donne di qualunque fede, nazionalità ed etnia, ci affidiamo al Suo abbraccio di fede, perché la solidarietà, la carità, e l’amore abbiano la meglio in questi nostri tempi bui.
La salutiamo, Santo Padre, con una frase di Sant’Agostino che ci è particolarmente cara: “Il Signore, per farci disprezzare l’amicizia dei potenti, non volle prima scegliere i senatori, ma i pescatori”.

The peace evoked by your Holiness in the first message from the lodge of Saint Peter is a hope for the whole world, crossed by too many wars, conflicts, death and destruction.
A peaceful “disarming and unarmed” is a powerful call to all humanity. We, the doctors and workers of the C.I.R.M, committed to the care of men and women of any faith, nationality and ethnicity, entrust ourselves to your embrace of faith, so that solidarity, charity and love may prevail in these dark times.
We greet you, Holy Father, with a phrase of Saint Augustine that is particularly dear to us: “The Lord, in order to make us despise the friendship of the powerful, did not first choose the senators, but the fishermen”.
